Tasklist claiming task when not in candidate grooup

I have a user task with candidate group set to a group named finance.

If I log in to the tasklist webapp as a user that is not in the finance group, I don’t expect that I would be able to claim the task.

However, I can claim and complete the task.

Has the tasklist app changed in the last few years? I sure thought this is the way it used to work.

can you give me more explanation? like how did you set filters criteria in the tasklist? or what is the access levels that the mentioned user has?

Actually, I didn’t have authorization enabled. After enabling, this particular problem went away. Thanks
