ALTER TABLE - Column for Process Variable field

Hi

What is the impact of increasing the size of the table column field?

Context: I am experiencing data truncation error which is caused by an attempt to insert a process variable that is made up of characters which are slightly more than 4000 characters which is what the camunda process variable table column can accommodate.
