Accessing data from a standard cockpit plugin in a custom plugin

Hello,

is it possible to access the result-list received from the ‘search process instances’ in a custom plugin or do we have to build our own search?

In case anybody has a similar problem:
We found no way to extend the provided search-plugin or ‘steal’ its information, but here’s how the frontend search that is used by the provided plugin works:
